Paula Barnett - Technical Support
Paula brings two key areas of professional experience to the team having worked as both a Facilities Manager of commercial buildings as well as a council Building Warrant of Fitness Auditor. In the auditor role she was responsible for applying the relevant sections of the Building Act from a statutory, advisory and enforcement capacity covering BWoF compliance and also the development of new and the revision of existing compliance schedules. She has audited hundreds of buildings, from hospitals to power stations, apartments to libraries. The auditor role is not only a check of the building owner’s adherence to the Building Code, but also that of the IQP’s and the accuracy of their 12A Certificates, surveys and maintenance reports. In this role she also attended final inspections for the granting of Code Compliance Certificates and Public Use Certificates accompanying council Building Inspectors.
She is a member of Facilities Management Association of New Zealand and the National Association of Women in Construction. Paula joins Building Networks to provide support on technical issues and to deliver dynamic and memorable training workshops to its members and customers.
