Madelein is an experienced relationship manager and the super friendly voice on the end of the phone when you call. Her organised approach to her work and background in compliance administration, is the glue that keeps our team ticking along in the background.
Among other things, customer service is her thing, and she loves helping people find the solutions they need. From our public events co ordination through to our online school users, she tackles almost anything that comes her way with a smile and great sense of humour.

Rosemary is an international speaker, author and training practitioner specialising in building law. She is a sought after speaker for building conferences and a regular commentator on building compliance in New Zealand.
With substantial insider knowledge of how councils review and interpret the Building Act rules, she brings practical insights and wisdom from over 26 years of working alongside building compliance staff, Council staff, building inspectors and building owners.

Visionary and energetic, Jen is brilliant at teaching professionals, managers and leaders how to communicate better, helping them navigate and master the art and skills of communication, and getting key messages to hit the spot. As well as growing up and marrying into the building industry, she brings years of marketing and communication expertise to Building Networks. A natural trouble shooter, she is known for finding the right words for the right situation.

Digital and systems engagement expert

Lloyd is our online, digital and systems engagement expert. His international experience and background working with large associations, non-profits and commercial organisations, spans decades. He takes content, brand and educational material and makes it digitally engaging and slick. One of his biggest accolades was in the early development of webinars, online learning, and a CPD program development in the education sector, at a national level in Australia.

Lloyd has a powerful mix of skills in computer science, public relations, and business administration, so when it comes to systems that work, connect, and are engaging, Lloyd is the guy for the job.

Grant Beazely

Grant Beazely ADNZ, IQP, NZCE

Design, Compliance, IQP

Grant is a seasoned ‘all-rounder’ and technically solid across engineering, design, Building Act and Resource Management Act knowledge and application.
With over 30 years’ experience in project management, architectural design, electrical design & building compliance, Grant brings a strong focus on definitive yet practical architectural solutions, profitable land development, project planning and coordination, sensible structural engineering & up to date compliance outcomes.

John Gardiner

John Gardiner

Building Act

Prior to his consulting work John was Manager Determinations and Assurance at MBIE. At MBIE he was the decision maker for Determinations under the Building Act, responsible for building product issues as well as being the programme manager for the implementation of the new Earthquake-prone Buildings legislation. Since then John has been involved in both national and international building compliance consultancy work including acting Director of Technical and Regulation for the Victorian Building Authority. Prior to joining MBIE he was Deputy Chief Executive of Engineering New Zealand (then IPENZ) and was made a Fellow.

Bill has been in the Plumbing Gasfitting & Drainage industry for over forty years. Bill has worked with councils & industry leaders throughout New Zealand to develop & deliver training and consulting on projects nationwide. He was previously a tutor at Unitec and has delivered 100s of hours of P and D training.

Commercial and residential inspections

Involved in the building industry since the early 1990s Nick is an experienced building control surveyor who revels in sharing knowledge and experiences to assist colleagues achieve their goals within Building Control environments. Undertaking both residential and commercial inspections, either on site or remotely by video link. Nick enjoys the challenge of ensuring compliance whilst allowing building projects to proceed.

Debbi is experienced in Quality Assurance, Process Improvement, Organisational Development and Change Management. Having worked in the Quality Management arena for over 30 years she has proven background and experience in Auditing and is a Certified Exemplar Global Lead Auditor in Quality Management.

Health and Safety

Matt is our health and safety champion. The Director/Principal Consultant of Advanced Safety, Board Member of the Canterbury Safety Charter, Founder of the Business Leaders New Zealand, Founder of the New Zealand Health and Safety Professionals, radio host of ‘Health and Safety Unplugged’ and ‘Business Leaders New Zealand’, and one of the first health and safety professionals to become Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) registered.
